Down to feather ratio

The down to feather ratio is the percentage of down (the fluffy plumage) to the percentage of feathers (the quills) in a jacket. The higher the down percentage, the warmer and lighter the jacket will be. For example, a 90/10 ratio means that the jacket is 90% down and 10% feather. High-quality jackets should have at least an 80/20 ratio. The down to feather ratio is usually indicated on the label of a down jacket, along with the fill power and the amount of down.
